CALIFORNIA & ITALIAN BARRELS 2023 SOLD OUT

AmorossoItalian “love of red” is ruby when young and deepens with maturity; pronounced tannins and high alcohol marry to become a robust, dry wine with a satisfying finish that lingers long
Barolo begins exclusively with the Nebbiolo grape from northern Italy’s Piedmont region; rich, full-bodied with a mouthwatering acidity, when young offers flavors of wild berries; its full potential (after at least 3 yrs) emerges a complexity of mushroom-like truffles and porcini, licorice, spice, tobacco and chocolate
Brunello is conceived in the Tuscany region with Sangiovese grapes; garnet in color, smooth tannins, full-bodied, high acidity and high alcohol allows this red to harmonize its bold fruit flavors with vanilla and spice; we are told Brunello needs 8 – 10 yrs to reach its full potential ~ we haven’t been able to keep ours that long!
Montepulciano” is a medium-bodied red from the Abruzzi region; sour cherries, plum, raspberries are forward in its youth; fig, cocoa, and vanilla develop with age; pairs nicely with rich, savory foods
Nero d’Avola” also known as Calabrese, is the most important and widely planted grape in Sicily and now is also grown in Mendocino CA; well structured, full-bodied, fruit forward presenting black cherries, plum, licorice, expresso, tobacco, chocolate; pairs well with grilled meats
Petite Sirahoriginally imported from France in the late 1800’s, this grape is a cross between the Syrah and Peloursin; intense deep dark color, full bodied, smooth acidity compliments the jammy blueberries and plums with dark chocolate and smoky pepper notes; fruit forward with a lingering finish asking for more!
Dark Knight” is a new blend for Weak Knee; big bold reds come together in this moderately dry, medium-bodied, clean aromas with jammy flavors, silky smooth, balanced and quite enjoyable young; easy drinking!
Black Sav  is a favorite at Weak Knee; we blend the popular Lodi Cab Sav with the Black Malvasia grape, creating a robust, full-bodied red wine that can be enjoyed young; chocolate licorice develops with age
Old Vine Zinfandel” begins from low clusters of grapes harvested from 50+ year old vines, producing intense flavorful, full-bodied wine with black berries and peppery notes on a dry finish
